I’m running androku on my desire and its great, but the display doesn’t work on the M500 as you’ve noted. Also I have 3 soundbridges and its a bit of a pain having to go to settings each time. Would you consider making the source code open source so I could work on these additional enhancements?
I would have to clean up the stuff, so it might take quite a while to make the source open.
Concerning M500, as it doesn’t send any display information and never will, one would have to change the whole concept of the program, and it would be cleaner to start from scratch.
There is no problem to have you directly choose among various soundbridges at program startup, if that helps. I could integrate the feature in a view days.
hey,
i love your upnplay app. are you planning to build a honeycomb version? i’d love to contribute if possible. drop me a mail if you’re interested. 🙂
Bebopfreak,
I love your app it works great on my 3.1HC tab over wifi. But I have been trying to use the WAN feature for some time now. When I clone the server and I turn off my wifi, then try to connect I get the message Connecting with (name of my server) and it just sits there. If you have any help it would be greatly appreciated.
Did you read ‘help’? Did you do port forwarding? Do you know the global IP address/hostname of your server and did you replace your local IP address in the form?
I read the “help” I also set up my port to be forwarded to my pc hosting the media, then I also replaced the Local IP with the global IP that I got from whatismyip. So when I turn off the wifi and connect to my 3G it just says “connecting with” and hangs there…
You should be able to retrieve the description file with your browser:
ip:port/descr
If that doesn’t work, something’s wrong with your setup. (Usually your global ip changes regularly – that’s why dynamic ip is more convenient.)

Hello! I like your App upnplay’ but i need a litle help. Im using a HTC Desire and a Acer Iconia tablet. On both of them i’ve installed upnplay. My problem: On my smartphone i can find the files from the tablet, but on the tablet i cant find the media-files from my smartphone. May you help me please?
The app doesn’t contain a ‘UPnP Server’, so the content won’t show up. The tablet probably has the Acer UPnP Server enabled, HTC Desire doesn’t have a native server as far as I know.
Have played with many UPnP(/DLNA) offerings on Android and yours is by far the most functional! Many android dev’s now run facebook/twitter for the dev role’s – do you likewise (a little ‘easier’ (more ‘social’ to run ‘conversations’ than wordpress comments)
Ahhhh, I was thinking more in terms of a UPnPPlay account (/community) as opposed to this actual blog 🙂 Anyway, just a thought – and thanks for the great work.

No honeycomb device, no honeycomb adaption – emulator is too slow.

Do you release the code as opensource? I would like to learn from your code
Currently not. Without major rewriting it’s certainly nothing you should learn!

Well, facebook isn’t ideal for people like me who don’t have a facebook account. There isn’t that much traffic anyway.
